Already paid, and it went wrong?

If your order never arrived, or what came is nothing like the ad, you can often get your money back. Act soon: most options have time limits.

1. Contact the store once, in writing

Ask for a refund or a delivery date by email or their contact form. Save your message and any reply. Card companies and PayPal usually ask whether you tried this first.

2. Dispute the payment

Paid by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay

Call the number on the back of your card or use their app, and ask for a chargeback. For US credit cards, you generally have 60 days from the statement showing the charge. Debit card rules vary by bank, so call soon.

Paid with PayPal

Go to the Resolution Center and open a dispute for this payment. PayPal’s Purchase Protection generally allows 180 days from the payment date.

PayPal Resolution Center

Paid by bank transfer, Zelle, Cash App or Venmo

Transfers and payment apps are hard to reverse, so ask right away whether the payment can be stopped or recalled. Ask for a reference number.

Paid with crypto

Crypto payments usually can’t be reversed. Keep the wallet address and transaction ID; agencies use them to trace payments.

3. Keep everything

Screenshots of the ad, the product page, your order confirmation, emails and tracking. Don't delete them until it's settled.

4. Report it

Warn the next shopper

Tell us what happened. A reviewer checks every report, and reviewed reports appear in the store's record on Legit or Not.
